Magpie Podcast!!!!!
I just had the GREAT pleasure of listening to sparrow2000 discussing her beautiful fic Magpie on the Sunnydale Fanfic Club podcast. If you are a sparrow fan (and who isn't?), this is a real treat. Listening to her talk about her inspiration and process was fascinating. Oh, and she has an absolutely beautiful speaking voice!

Listen! Enjoy!

Trapped (Spike/Xander)
Wow, it's been a LONG time, but a posted a ficlet at slashthedrabble It's here.

Podcast Rec!!!!

This podcast is absolutely fascinating, and I highly recommend listening! I don’t want to give away too much – the story reveals itself progressively – but it does involve fic and fannish love. I'll just include the description from the site:

Since a child, Sarz had a deep connection to the Lord of the Rings books. After the movie version came out in 2003, that connection went several layers deeper.

PLEASE give it a listen!

dreamwidth question
I imported my journal and set up cross-posting, but "memories" from lj did not import to dreamwidth. Is there a way of doing this>

And another question: My own entries post on my "recent entries" page, but not on my" reading" page. Is there a way to remedy this?

Any help appreciated, because this dreamwidth thing ain't working for me, and it's getting me down.

I don't think I've gotten the hang of dreamwidth yet,

I haven't felt hopeful for quite a while. Being here today gave me hope.

Edited to say, this is not me, in case you were wondering.

Questions About the Potential Demise of Livejournal
First of all, I'm at dreamwidth under the same name. Also under the same name at tumblr and AO3.

Secondly, I have some questions, because I'm technologically delayed, and I just don't know:

1. What's the best way of saving the enormous number of links to other people's fic and meta that I've collected over the years? I'm terrified of losing this stuff. Some of it is on AO3, but a lot of is isn't.

2. Is there a way to include on my dreamwidth site fic that I've posted in various livejournal communities, but not on my own site?

3. If I check "subscribe" on my dreamwidth "Manage Circle" page, am I now going to receive entries made by those people on my dreamwidth "Reading" page? What's the difference on dreamwidth between "join" and "subscribe"?

Any advice you can offer will be met with fervent appreciation.

In the wake of this election year’s catastrophe, and its devastating consequences for all of us, this site suggests donating money to worthy candidates and causes in lieu of gift-giving during the upcoming holiday season. It has a great list of organizations, and a tool to set up a giving schedule.

Please check it out. Signal boost! Please!

Election Day
I was so happy when I cast my vote his morning for the first woman President of the United Staes.

Now, I am overwhelmed with anxiety.

Any positive words would be appreciated.

Thanks you, feliciacraft ,for letting me know that my 500-word ficlet What Gives won best drabble at the wicked awards (although I am one of those crazy sticklers who says a drabble is 100 words only, dammit)!

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to the mods!

And check out that Spanderific banner!

Note: A few weeks ago, I wrote a ficlet for the prompt "Silver Lining" at slashthedrabble. Only when I went to post it, I realized the prompt was not, in fact, "Silver Lining" -- I had mistaken the title of someone's posted drabble for the prompt. Anyway, here it is. 300 words.

Edited to add: and it won this!

Letter Meme
I was given the letter "S" by velvetwhip, so here goes:

Something I hate: Spoilers! And I'm rigorous about avoiding them.
Something I love: Sundays. Unless I'm in the middle of a big work project, I try to keep Sundays free from work, errands, or other obligations. It's my day for doing whatever I feel like doing, or for doing nothing at all.
Somewhere I've been: Slovenia
Somewhere I'd like to go: Sydney. I really want to visit Australia and New Zealand, but I fear it may never happen (my partner can't deal with the length of the flight).
Someone I know: sparrow2000, and she posted a story today!
A film I like: Spartacus. Safe. Sunset Boulevard. I gave you three!
